Changing people’s lives through working with the community, and partners in Sport, Leisure, Health, Education and Culture. Swale Community Leisure (SCL) was established to facilitate the provision of Sports and Leisure facilities in Swale provided by the two Leisure Centres in Sittingbourne and Sheerness (Swallows Leisure Centre and Sheppey Leisure Complex).

SCL intends to make a positive impact on the well-being of the people of Swale, as well as to its own employees, members and partners. Its strategy is to work towards making a significant contribution to the intended outcomes of key partners in Sport, Leisure, Health, Education and Culture, and ultimately to the local populace via:

The creation of a sustainable business model that contributes to the SCLL 2020 Vision

Reducing dependency upon external funding and the need for an annual grant subsidy.

A measurable improvement in the health of the Borough of Swale

Working towards a reduction in levels of obesity across the Borough and contributing to a narrowing of the prevalent health inequalities, in particular life expectancy, as well as a number of other health related issues.

More affordable leisure provision for the people of Swale

Ensuring equality of access to affordable leisure provision in Sittingbourne, Sheerness, Faversham and the outlying rural areas

A significant rise in participation levels in healthy activities across the Borough

Increasing levels of patronage at key leisure facilities, and working to change perceptions based on negative imagery, through the development and delivery of an extensive outreach programme

New and improved leisure provision within the regeneration of Sittingbourne Town Centre and Sheerness
